Erica Blaire Roby

Roby's recent appearance on Blue Smoke Grill, a Food Network program, shows that she has more to cooking than many people think. She has worked under some of the most prominent chefs in the industry and was awarded a $7500 Preserve the Pit fellowship grant. Her skills as a barbecue chef were tested against top chefs across the country. The competition was tough, but Roby fought through the pain, despite a cut finger.

A psychology graduate, Roby has worked as a wine expert and as a criminal defense attorney. Prior to her appearance on Food Network, Roby spent some time as a sommelier, pairing wines and foods. It gave her the chance to re-discover her passion for cooking. Roby's father was a barbeque joint owner, so her passion for grilling came naturally.

Despite her legal career, Roby decided to take up cooking barbecue after having her first child. Roby was inspired by her father’s dream to open a barbecue restaurant. Roby took a course in barbecue cooking with celebrity pitmaster Harry Soo. As a result, she became a certified pitmaster and was soon working in a barbecue restaurant.

Barbecue was a hobby that she began to enjoy and then became a passion. She started out by cooking on her backyard patio. In the next few years, she began to participate in barbecue competitions throughout the country, where her dishes were prepared by world-famous chefs. She has also opened several pop ups in Dayton and Ohio. She hopes to eventually open her own food truck.

Team Brawl vs. Team Brawl vs.

The Food Network BBQ Team Brawl's third season will see two of the most renowned chefs around the world team up to fight for the title of best griller. Anne Burrell will battle Jet Tila, Bobby Flay, and Team Anne in a dinner-party brawl. Matt Roth (BBQ Brawl's favorite) returns as the Austin-based Smokin Beauty owner with Thao.

Ann explained to the contestants what she was making, while Jet (from Food Network BBQ Team Brawl) let them choose. As a result, Team Bobby failed to make his ceviche. This time, Team Anne has a huge advantage. Anne even reached for an ingredient while Team Bobby was struggling to breathe.

The new season of BBQ Team Brawl will feature some familiar faces, as with all Food Network competitions. Lee Ann Whippen will be Team Anne's judge. Lee Ann has been barbecuing since 1993. She is also the managing director of Deviled Pig in Tampa, and a judge at the Kansas City Barbecue Society. She has won multiple state and world barbecue championships and has starred on TV shows like BBQ Pitmasters and Throwdown with Bobby Flay.

Flay and Symon fought it out for the best barbecue sandwich in another battle. Lee Ann took a more traditional approach, while Susie took a more exotic turn. Although her pork belly banh mash was innovative, judges were not impressed by its thickness. Team Anne's burger was flavorful, juicy and on a sturdy bun.
